| Fishing |
Sebago Lake is an enormous body of water (the
2nd largest in Maine), covering 28,771 acres, with a maximum depth
of 316 ft. Its borders extend approximately 8 miles by 10 miles,
surrounded by the towns of Casco, Naples, Raymond, Windham, Standish,
and Sebago. Sebago Lake is a distance of 35 miles around. This
is an excellent fishing lake, still called "home of the land-locked
salmon."
Hancock Pond in Denmark is locally known as a prime winter
hotspot for browns. It remains a perennial favorite among locals
and visitors to the area because, when Hancock is hot, it has
a reputation for producing big fish. Browns
in the 2-pound class are nothing unusual, and much larger specimens
are a good possibility.
